Couple Spotlight: James + Kyra

We are excited to introduce you to James & Kyra!  We've known James since he was 8 so with that much history, you know the other half of the relationship has some big expectations to meet.  Kyra does not disappoint.  James and Kyra together will change the world.  They care so much about others and that translates to each other.

James and Kyra are another couple who wanted to meet to talk about what marriage might look like before they were actually engaged.  There is nothing like asking hard questions, preparing, and knowing what craziness you're getting into before you jump in with both feet.

One of the most notable things about James and Kyra is the way they strike a balance between spontaneity and intentionality.  As a result, they are in for a life of fun and adventure while also managing and investing in their marriage. We are so excited to see what the future holds for these guys!

Q: When is your wedding?
A: August 14, 2021

Q: Describe your current family unit? 
A: 1+1 = 2

Q: Where do you live?
A: Grand Rapids. We found the coolest place and can't wait to move in together.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do on a date night?
A: Trying new restaurants or getting creative in the kitchen! We also love the simple things like going on a drive or chilling at the lake.

Q: What is one thing you have learned from marriage coaching?
A: Listen to HEAR.  Not just listening.

Q: What is one thing you are most excited about for the coming year?
A: Traveling.  But we are also excited for the day to do things like hugging each other every day.

Q: What is one of your rules for fighting fair? 
A: Don't go to bed without saying, "I love you."

Q: When and where do you connect most often to invest in your relationship?
A: Typically over a meal or on a car ride.

Q: What is the best marriage advice you have received or a key take-away from your Meaningful Marriage experience?
A: You're going to make mistakes - learn, move on, and keep loving!
