When we were preparing for marriage we were lucky to have access to a few awesome mentor couples.  We both remember sitting on the couches of these wise sages late into the evening just talking about what we hoped for in a marriage.  We were so excited but had no idea what was about to happen to us.  As time in our marriage went on and we got 5-7 years into marriage, 2 things become clear to us:

1. We were lucky to have access to so much wisdom, but there really was no plan for our conversations.  We were just hanging out and trying to absorb as much as we could, but there was no roadmap for the conversations and no roadmap for us to follow moving forward.
